Born and raised in Chicago, Raven Brown, also known as Rae Chanel, is an artist who shoots portraits, events, and editorial work with a focus on creating safe, welcoming spaces for the Black community—especially Black women—to be their most authentic selves.
Her love for photography is deeply rooted in family. Inspired by her grandfather and the countless photo collections passed down over the years, she grew up surrounded by images that told stories and preserved legacies. Little did she know, those albums would become the spark for her own creative journey.
What started as a hobby has grown into a true passion. Today, she values bringing ideas to life and executing them with intention, capturing moments that feel natural, timeless, and worth remembering. For her, photography isn’t just about taking pictures—it’s about making sure memories live on forever.
